How It All Began

A Love Story Across Oceans

2018

First Meeting

Little did we know, the day we met in Chennai would be the first page of our forever.

It started with a single word "Korangu" Tamil for monkey, taught with a laugh that neither of us would soon forget. From that small, silly moment grew something unexpectedly beautiful: badminton rallies, bike rides, and the kind of easy company that makes a place feel like home.

And then, as life does, it pulled us in different directions onto separate paths, separate adventures, a world full of color and experience waiting to be lived. But some connections don't fade with distance. They simply wait.

Eight years later, what began with one word in Chennai came full circle and we chose each other not for once but for every lifetime.

2020

Growing Closer

Friendship is one of the strongest foundations a relationship can stand on and ours proved exactly that.

Without either of us fully realizing it, the bond between us kept quietly deepening even through two years of not being in the same room. New careers and ambitions are still finding their shape. Yet through all of it, we kept showing up for each other in the ways that matter most: a message at the right moment, a conversation that picked up right where it left off, a steadiness that never asked for explanation.

We were each other's safe space long before we were anything more.

And somewhere in the middle of all that growing, the lives we were each busy building, the bond between us bloomed into something neither of us had planned, but both of us had somehow always known.

2025

The Proposal

Being sure of someone is not an easy thing, especially when you are in two different countries, timezones, speak two different languages and come from different cultures. We knew we were good for each other all along but never really knew how to work it out.

When one was very sure, the other had fear mongering in their head about family's acceptance. And when that settled, fear of the long distance, not meeting for a while, and figuring out how it would all work out crept in. We kept passing that certainty back and forth.

Amidst all of this chaos, we realized if we want it, we will make it work. Staying apart for a few years should not push away the right person. We already knew we were each other's home. We just needed to finally meet to say it out loud.

After 7 years, on December 15th, 2025 we finally got to see each other, breathe the same air, under the same sky. Yayy!!

2026

Forever Begins

Finally, after 8 years of knowing each other, having talked about everything without judgement, having accepted each other in most of the ways that matter, we introduced each other to our families. And they loved and supported us like no one else in this world.

Was it easy? No. Was it worth it? Yes. Totally.

We understood that if you truly want something, and if it is right for you, for your family, and for your overall well being, it will find its way to you no matter what. Just pray for the greater good and it will return to you as it did to us.

We seek your blessings and best wishes as we step into this new chapter. Although honestly, it already feels like we have been together for many past lifetimes. Here's to marking this beautiful journey together finally and officially.
